The Home Office is No More

My home office is officially no more. I used to have a nice little room in the house where I did all of my computer work. I had my "ego" wall behind me with all of my degrees and certifications, a white board with my to-dos, a small TV to listen to the game while I slaved away at the keyboard, and all of my papers spewed about everywhere. As of last night, it is no more. We officially took down all of the wall decorations and moved the remaining furniture out to make space.

This afternoon the new baseboards and casings were installed (since the old ones were ruined in the flood) and the chair rail was installed. We even finalized our paint colors and I expect that the pink and purple will start appearing on the walls on Monday.

I am typing this posting from the comfort of my new location...the home office slash guest bedroom. That's right...if you want to come visit us and stay over, you now get to share the room with all of my computer junk, including my desktop, the web server, both monitors, my large desk and a whole bunch of unrecognizable computer parts. Or at least things I believe to be computer related. Doesn't it sound cozy? The guest room is now officially the warmest room in the house, thanks to the heat all of the electrical equipment gives off.

I'm doing my best to keep the office "area" clean, which I'm sure will make Annie happy, but since the house is still a construction site, its not making much of a difference yet.

This is going to take some getting used to, but I have an inkling that I'm going to have to get used to a whole bunch of new things in the coming years......
