It's Baseball Time

In honor of Opening Day, I'm finally going to upload some photos from Laney's first baseball game. Two year's ago Macy attended her first game and now it was Laney's turn. Just like in 2010, Cousin Terri was able to get tickets for the Joe Dimaggio Legends Game. This year our seats were right behind home plate. If you aren't familiar with the Legends Game, MLB players from a number of past generations all gather to put on an afternoon of fun and excitement. The skill levels ranged depending upon how long it has been since these guys played professionally. Some of them seemed like they could still play and others needed a breather after the jog from the dugout to the field.

It was fun watching people recognize the names of their childhood heroes, but I was quite surprised by the gentlemen who garnered the most attention from the crowd. In a group of former All-Stars and maybe even a hall of famer, the guy who caused the biggest stir and caused 50-60 year old men to grab their cameras and run was none other than Sgt. Slaughter, the former professional wrestler. (For the record, I did get a picture of him...I mean how could you not? But I didn't get up and run across the stadium, like many of the other guys.)

Even with taking a break during the game, the excitement of the whole day tired the girls out; to the point that Macy even asked daddy to carry her back to the car. Mommy was able to snap a picture of daddy and Macy, before daddy's back gave out.

Almost Famous

Most of the videos I've added to the blog recently are actually on YouTube and have about 30-60 views, which I thought was pretty good. A few weeks back I shared a video of Macy rooting for her favorite basketball team and I've noticed that the views were slowly climbing higher than all the others. I figured that Grandma was watching it at least once a day and was running the numbers up a bit. (It is a pretty darn cute video if I do say so myself.)

On Thursday, I reviewed my YouTube account and saw that Macy's video was up to 735 views!!!!

735 views--My first thought was that Grandma really needed to find a hobby and get off of the computer, but then I noticed a little entry on the page, which informed me that Macy's video had been posted on another site. For the Syracuse fans in the crowd, you might have heard about a little blog called "Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician." These guys have built quite a following for themselves and often get mentioned by official Syracuse New York newspaper, the Syracuse Post Standard.

Well, on their "The Five Stages Of Fab Melo Grief" article, they included Macy's video. (Check out the bottom of the article) How cool is that?

My little girl is famous...almost famous, sorta famous...well, you get the point.

Time For an After The Tenth Spotlight

Often times things happen during the course of our day that I intend to write about. Sometimes those posts are written within 1-2 days of the events, while everything is still fresh in my mind, other times the post is delayed a number of days and I'm only able to recall the highlights. In this case, this post has been on my mind for so long and is so overdue that I could have been watching Conan O'Brien do his Tonight Show monologue while writing this.

Have any of you received bookmarks with pictures of my little ones? Have you received a thank you card written on card stock that had a photo of a Sznitken on it? Mailing labels with our little ladies on them? How about a crayon box with some custom images? If so, you might have thought that Annie and I were pretty talented and while you are correct, we can't take credit for those items. The real wizard is my Great-Uncle Jack, who is great in more than name only. These items are just the tip of the Sznitken spoiling iceberg.

Here he is donning a fabulous Easter Hat

He may be Uncle Jack to us, but he also goes by another name...Great-Grandpa Jack

Here he is, catching up on Macy's day via a Skype call

Great-Uncle Jack is an avid reader of the blog and I hope he won't mind us singling him out today. (He's kind a private man...so I'm guessing he's either blushing or a bit upset with me...but I'm willing to take the heat)
