Baby's First Dave Show

Friday night the baby got to attend her first Dave Matthews Band (DMB) concert and we think she enjoyed it. Big thanks to "Aunt" Debbie for giving us the tickets. (I've annointed her as an honorary "Aunt" since she got us DMB tickets). The show was at the Cruzan Ampitheater and we had great seats. We were under the covered section, which was comforting due to the threat of rain. In the end the weather held out and Dave and the boys put on a great show.

It seems that not only did we enjoy it, but our little one enjoyed the show as well. I say that because as soon as the DMB wrapped up and started the obligitory 10 minute break before the encore, she began kicking Annie. The kicking stopped shortly after the band returned. (Ok..ok, I'm sure its just a coincedence, but its fun to think about my unborn daughter already becoming a DMB fan, like her parents)

Speaking of liking the DMB, she's definitely going to be a music fan. In the five short months of her being, she's already attended a 9-person violin concert in Prague, a orchestra playing Mozart's music in Vienna, a Coldplay concert and now a Dave Matthews Band concert. We are already scouring the upcoming shows to see what we can introduce her to next.

Strong Kicks

So a few nights after the "big flood" we had a special moment together. (Its ok to keep reading, this is a PG-13 blog) Annie and I both climbed into bed at the end of a long day when suddenly the little one decided it was time to stretch her legs. Annie quickly grabbed my hand, placed it over the prime location and...........nothing, absolutely nothing. I missed it. Bummer!

Annie conviced me to be patient, so I left my hand there for a few moments, when it happened. I was able to feel my unborn child kick (or punch). What an awesome and WEIRD experience. Unfortunately, we were so exhausted from trying to get the house back into shape, that we both had a quick moment of joy and then turned over and passed out.

Have You Missed Us?

For those of you who are regular readers of After The Tenth (hi mom), you might have noticed that there haven't been any new posts recently and the site hasn't even been online for the past few days.

That's because the web server running the site was sitting in 3 inches of water this week. That's right, we had a "small" little flood at the house. The good news is that all of our computer equipment is shiny and sparkly after its recent bath and most of it still turns on. (including the web server...which is how I'm able to write this)

[By the way..you can stop panicking mom, that's not my ankle in the photo and I don't have any tatoos]

Having a minor catastrophe has really made me rethink my backup system. Since this isn't a computer site but a baby site, I won't spend a lot of time harping on this, but if you aren't backing up your computer somehow you are just asking for trouble. I backup my data to an external hard drive which is ok, but I'm going to start researching online backup systems, because I could have easily lost both my computers and their backups.

Ok, back to baby news...Annie's in her 21st week and its starting to show. I've definitely found myself looking over at her recently and thinking about how great she's been handling her new "condition."

I'll post more shortly, but now I have to get back to putting the house back together.
