Baby's 2nd Christmas & A Few Other Fun Things

Hard to believe that we just experienced Macy's second Christmas. I looked and looked, but for some reason the stores don't seem to sell a "baby's 2nd Christmas" outfit.Even before the holiday's arrival, I had already had an amazing week with lots of laughs and TONS of food. My folks came down and it seemed that we were having one gourmet meal after another.

As if just having big Christmas and New Years dinners weren't enough to make me need bigger pants, we decided to take my parents out to The Melting Pot, to celeberate their 40th wedding anniversary, which is in a few weeks. If you aren't familiar with the Melting Pot, it is a fondue restaurant. We thought it would be fun to give them a dinner that would have been the hot thing back when they got married in the 70s. There is something deceiving about fondue...it doesn't look like they give you a lot of food, but I could barely walk out of the restaurat, I was so stuffed.

In the mix of pictures below, there are a few from the night we gave Macy her giant birthday cupcake. Just in case it wasn't clear, we aren't that bad at feeding her, these photos are the result of Macy feeding herself. There are also a few of Macy opening up her presents.

As a gentle reminder, the last post included a video from her brithday party and I highly recommend that you watch it, if you haven't seen it yet.

Happy New Year to everyone and if you and your family celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas. I'm sure that 2011 will be another unforgettable year in the Sznitken household.

Baby's Firsts...

I can't really explain how it happened, but yesterday I was driving home from work and before I knew it, I was walking around Toys R Us shopping for my daughter (Wow does that sound weird).

I wanted to be the one to buy her first gift, so there I am holding this large pink stuff elephant...listening to the Toys R Us theme play over and over in the store. I don't wanna grow up....

I decide its now time to head over to the register and once again I can't really explain it, but all of a sudden I'm holding this pink glitter flower that is a wall decoration.

Ok, two gifts tucked under my arm and I'm off for the register. On my way, I just happen to pass by the sporting goods section. How can I head home and risk that someone else will buy her her first baseball glove? It was just too risky. They had these Disney gloves and other silly ones with cartoon images on them, but my girl is gonna be a serious baller, so she's gonna need a serious glove. I was just about to give up when I happened to spot one last Franklin mitt that seemed to just appear out of nowhere. Great webbing, black leather and pink mesh backing. Definitely a glove I'd use if I were the star center fielder on the girl's 5 year old travelling softball team.

Yeah its a righty glove and I'm certain that our little one is going to be a southpaw, like her daddy, but maybe I'll show her how to be ambidextrous.

(All images used without the expressed written permission of Toys R Us, but I'm counting on them cutting me some slack since I actually purchased all of these items)
