Back Home, Where I Like It
This afternoon I returned back home from a short business trip. Before I tell you where I was, let me preface it with my standard statement that the trip sounds like it would be much cooler than the reality of the trip. If any of you have ever travelled for business, you'll know that when you are out of town, you try to squeeze in as much work as possible before you have to get back on the plane.
This morning I flew back in from the lovely islands of Turks and Caicos. At least I hear they are lovely. I couldn't really attest to it, but I can tell you that we stayed in a nice hotel and my client's boardroom was quite functional and comfortable. I can sum up the trip by saying that the first time I got to see the crystal clear blue water during the daylight hours was peering out the airplane's window as we became airborne for our trip back to Miami.
I was gone for 3 nights, but was really only gone for two long days. We pulled off a short Skype call with Annie and Macy and I introduced Macy to my client George. I don't think George was ready for me to turn the camera on him and he probably didn't really want to be broadcast, but Macy said hi to him for about 5 seconds and then it was back to work. Annie tells me that for the next two days, every time she and Macy spoke about daddy, Macy would tell mommy that daddy was at work and then would follow that up by saying daddy was working with George.
Tonight while playing with Macy, she looked at me and without any prompt and said "Macy so excited daddy back home."
How can you beat that?
